Two friends sign their names on a peace treaty and go back to being soldiers. That should be the end of it. The border fights between Highland and the city states of Jowstown have finally stopped, and the hero and Jowy, both of them barely more than kids in the Unicorn Youth Brigade, get to breathe for the first time in months. Parades. Handshakes. Everyone saying the war is over. Then the ground starts moving again, quietly. The treaty holds on paper while something else builds underneath it. What neither friend can see yet is that the fragile calm is about to crack, and when it does, the two of them will end up on opposite sides of a fight that neither one asked for. Which one of them breaks first?
