A sorceress gets her claws into the emperor, and just like that the throne goes quiet. Not empty. Quiet. He sits there and does whatever she whispers, while the country around him falls apart at the seams. Evil spirits drift through the ruins like they own the place, and honestly, they might. So the Confederation of Immortal Masters does something reckless. They pick a young wizard and drop him into the wreckage with one job: hunt down the warlocks and whatever else is crawling around out there. He's talented. He's also alone, thousands of years from anyone who might back him up. The lands are a mess, the enemies are worse, and the people pulling the strings are not the ones he was warned about. Can a single apprentice wizard really cut through all of that before the human world runs out of time?
