A decade ago, gates tore open across the planet and monsters poured out of them. Some people got powers in return. They call themselves hunters, and they get paid to clear the dungeons. Sung Jin-Woo is one of them, technically. In practice he is the weakest hunter alive, taking cheap jobs just to keep his mother's hospital bills paid and his sister in school. Then a routine run goes wrong. His party gets slaughtered, Jin-Woo bleeds out on a dungeon floor, and that should be the end of him. It isn't. He wakes up in a hospital bed, alive for reasons nobody can explain, and a strange system only he can see starts giving him quests, stats, and levels. Every other hunter on Earth is stuck where they are. Jin-Woo is not. He grinds, he grows, and the gap between him and the people who once pitied him shrinks fast. But the system does not hand out free gifts, and something about it feels less like luck and more like a test. How far is he willing to go to climb, and who is really keeping score?
