Rikuo graduated half a year ago and already ran out of steam. He works at a tiny Tokyo convenience store, shoots photos he no longer cares about, and when people ask what he wants, the honest answer is nothing. Then a girl starts showing up at his register. Haru wears black, talks too much, and drags a limping crow around on a leash like it is the most normal thing in the world. She keeps coming back. She keeps talking. Just as Rikuo starts to wonder what she is after, Shinako walks back into his life. His old classmate, the crush he never got over, now living in the same city again. He calls her. They meet. And it slowly becomes clear she is not free to love him back, because something from her past still has its hands around her throat. Haru, meanwhile, is not just a quirky girl killing time at his counter. She lives alone too. She is stuck in the same fog, except she is the one actually trying to walk out of it. So now he is caught between a woman he has wanted for years and a woman who barged in and refused to leave. One pulls him toward yesterday, the other toward a future he cannot picture. Which one is he really reaching for, and what happens when the other one stops waiting?
