Arata Kaizaki quit his first real job after three months and never recovered. By twenty seven he is drifting between dead end interviews, sleeping through his alarm, and watching his resume rot. Then a stranger from a research lab offers him a pill. He swallows it with a gulp of beer and wakes up seventeen again, smooth faced and enrolled in high school for one year. Here is the catch. His so called life experience is worthless. He bombs every test, gasps through gym class, and cannot follow rules that did not exist a decade ago, all while the lab guy Ryou shadows him everywhere like a smug babysitter reporting back to headquarters. One year to fix his entire existence. But the classmates around him carry their own quiet wounds, and the longer Arata plays the teenager, the less he wants the experiment to end. What happens when the year is up and he has to walk back into the body he left behind?
