Momo Minamoto is the kind of girl who keeps her head down and her grades up, waiting for the day she can join the police like her dad. She has a trick nobody else knows about: one taste of something, a lollipop, a raindrop, anything, and she can read whatever the person who touched it was feeling. Useful. Also strange. On a quiet night she spots figures slipping through the dark below and follows them straight into a secret. Turns out those shadows belong to Tsukikage, a spy outfit run out of her own school, and its captain Yuki is a senior she already knows. Momo gets pulled in as the newest recruit, and the job comes with a boost: eat the right spice and your body moves faster, hits harder, sharper than it should. So now it is homework in the afternoon and stakeouts after dark, with Yuki and the others watching her back while the city keeps rotting from the inside. They are trying to clean up the streets of Sorasaki one operation at a time, but every mission drags them closer to whoever is really pulling the strings. Can a girl who just wanted to do some good keep up with a war that was never supposed to touch her?
