In 2061, everyone lives half in the Metal, a sealed network where your memories sit in their own private bubble. Fifty years ago people thought the Network would link all minds into a utopia. Instead they got leaks, tampered data, and no way to walk away. So the Metal was built: safer, cleaner, and impossible to quit. Then the instincts started leaking through. Inside those protected bubbles, people gave in to desires they'd never act on in the real world, and something ugly began to grow in the gap between the two. Aberrations. Things nobody planned for and nobody can explain. Masamichi Haru dives into that sea of information for a living, hunting down the incidents that spill out of the Metal and into real life. What is he really pulling up from the deep: just data, or something that wants to be found?
