Some people can slip into your head. Not read your thoughts, actually walk around inside them, swap memories, plant new ones, erase the bad stuff. Perfect for solving a locked room murder. Even better for committing one. Nobody knows these people exist, and they would rather keep it that way, because the word for them on the street is pets. Hiroki, Tsukasa and Satoru are three of them, working jobs for a man named Katsuragi. Get in, wreck the target from the inside, get out. There is a catch that makes it a suicide mission every single time: go too deep and your own mind shatters instead of theirs. So they wear chains, literal ones, and those chains are the only thing standing between a clean job and a man turned into an empty shell. Worse, the thing they do to other people is the thing everyone is afraid they will do to them. They keep their heads down, they keep their memories close. Then one job goes sideways in a way nobody planned for, and the people holding the leash start to look a lot less trustworthy than the targets. How much of what you remember is actually yours?
