The heavenly lightning is gone, but it left Ne Zha and Ao Bing in a strange state. Their minds are intact. Their bodies are not. What remains of them is fading fast, like breath on cold glass. The dragon prince and the boy who once fought him now share the same fate. So Taiyi pulls out his last hope: the Seven-colored Precious Lotus, a sacred flower he believes can rebuild their mortal flesh from nothing. Easy enough. Except the ritual refuses to go smoothly. Something out in the East Sea stirs. Old grudges wake up. The water itself turns hostile, and every step of the rebirth drags the two of them deeper into a conflict they thought they had buried. Can two spirits with no bodies hold onto who they are long enough to earn a second chance at life?
