Kirari Tsukishima has one thing on her mind, and it is not boys. It is food. Fourteen years old, gorgeous, and completely clueless about love, she could not name a single idol if you paid her. Then she climbs a tree to rescue a stranded turtle, and the turtle's owner turns out to be Seiji, a soft-spoken boy with a gentle smile. He hands her a concert ticket as a thank you. She barely makes it to the venue before another boy snatches the ticket from her hands, rips it in half, and tells her to stay away from Seiji. Different worlds, he says. She sneaks inside anyway. That is when she sees them both on stage: Seiji and the ticket-ripper, Hiroto, are members of the same idol group, SHIPS. So the guy who shredded her ticket is Seiji's bandmate. Nice. And Seiji, the boy who made her heart skip for the first time in her life, is a star. Kirari, meanwhile, is just a middle schooler who thinks about lunch during math class. Most girls would cry and go home. Kirari decides to become an idol herself. Now she has to claw her way into an industry she never cared about, against rivals who have trained for years, all to stand on the same stage as a boy who might not even see her that way. Can a girl whose greatest talent is eating actually make it to the top?
