The country is stuck. Wages keep shrinking while prices climb, the air gets dirtier every year, garbage piles up with nowhere to go, and parents camp out for daycare spots nobody in power bothers to ask them about. Scandal after scandal, and the government just sits there. So Japan tries something else. Seven new political parties hit the campaign trail, and every candidate in them is a pop idol. Here's the part nobody saw coming: these girls actually win seats in the National Diet. The Heroine Party, Sunlight, Starlight, Bishoujo, Wakaba, Subculture, SOS. Prefecture by prefecture, they trade press conferences for concerts and push their platforms through song and dance, determined to snap the whole country out of its funk and put smiles back on people's faces. It sounds ridiculous right up until you watch them go up against the old guard, the backroom deals and the moneyed interests that have run things for decades. Can a stage full of idols really fix a broken government, or does the system eat them alive first?
