Tarou Hanaukyou just lost his mother. Now he has to move in with a grandfather he barely knows, somewhere in Tokyo. He rings the bell and the door opens onto a mansion. Hundreds of maids, all of them waiting for him. The head maid, Mariel, sits him down and plays a video. Grandpa has a simple message: the whole fortune is yours now, kid. Tarou is fourteen. He does not get a say. So he moves in, and the staff start doing what they were trained to do. They follow him to the bathroom. They scrub his back in the pool. They climb into his bed at night to keep him warm. They even rig a basketball game so he beats grown men. His grandfather raised these girls for one purpose, and it was not housework. Tarou would like to stay a normal middle schooler. The mansion has other plans. Every day is a new ambush of kindness he never asked for, and the line between being cared for and being cornered keeps getting thinner. Can a shy kid hold onto his innocence when an entire household is determined to take it?
