Some people can push their bodies past every normal limit. Speed, strength, senses, all of it cranked up until they stop being ordinary. The technology behind it is called the Gene Lock, and the ones who crack it open get a name: agents. The best of them get a better one. Gun Gods. Academies pop up to churn out more of them, and for a while the whole thing looks like the future. Then the experiments get loose. A strange race starts pushing from somewhere outside, and the fighting turns into a full war. By the time it burns out, that race is gone and so is the proof. Agents, Gun Gods, all of it slides into rumor. Two organizations are left standing: Deep Sea, buried under the ocean floor, and Wild Serpent, holed up underground. Quiet. Careful. Out of sight. But quiet is not the same as safe. Something is still moving down there in the dark, and the two groups that survived the war are watching each other as much as anything else. So who is actually keeping the peace, and who is just waiting for the right moment?
