Gods' Game We Play

A dragon god sleeps inside a glacier. She wakes up furious, and her first order is simple: bring me the best game player alive. A year passes before anyone answers. Then in walks Fay, a human apostle with an Arise, which is just a fancy way of saying the gods have agreed to sit down at a table with him and play. Here is the twist. Leshea does not want to crush him. She likes him. She lets him call her by a nickname and joins his side. The prize hanging over every match is huge: win ten games against the gods and any wish gets granted. She wants her old status back, since she lost it the last time she came down to live among humans. Fay wants to find a woman who taught him games long ago, and that is all he will say about it. So they sit across from gods who cheat with the rules themselves. Every game hides its own conditions, and nobody hands out ten wins for free. Can two players who barely know each other really stay one step ahead of every divine trick?
