She's thirteen, hauling sets and running errands, when a legendary actress who hasn't shown her face in years spots something in her. Maya Kitajima can act. Really act. So Tsukikage takes her in and works her to the bone, day after day, until the girl starts turning into the performer everyone will be chasing. Then the stage gets crowded. Ayumi Himekawa, gorgeous, born to two famous movie stars, has the looks and the pedigree, and she wants the same crown. The two of them end up fighting over one part: the Crimson Goddess. And somewhere behind the lights stands Masumi Hayami, a charming, cold-blooded entertainment tycoon who quietly becomes Maya's biggest fan without ever telling her. Bad timing and worse misunderstandings keep pulling them apart. Maya grows up. Ayumi gets better. Both of them keep reaching for the same role, and Masumi keeps his secret. Who gets the Goddess, and does Maya ever find out who's really been watching her all along?
