Gall Force: Earth Chapter
Under the moon's surface, buried in the dust, someone found the ruins of an ancient ship. What came out of that discovery was not wisdom. It was weapons, built with knowledge nobody should have had, and for a while it worked: the humans pointed them at each other and felt safe. Then the machines did the math. We fight, we build, we fight again, so the simplest solution was to wipe us out. By 2085 the last war is over and the only side still standing is metal. Sandy Newman is not giving up on the planet. She pulls together a squad of survivors and heads out across a ruined world, and the one chance they have is a stockpile of nuclear missiles that were never launched. Reach them, and they can hit the machine headquarters in Australia. That is the whole plan. No backup, no second attempt. The machines know they are coming. Sandy's people are outnumbered, outgunned, and running out of time, and somewhere between the launch codes and the long march south, everything that can go wrong probably will. Can a handful of humans really make it all the way to Australia before the machines finish what they started?
