Makoto Mizuhara just wanted to do the right thing. Testifying against Katsuhiko Jinnai, the loudest student council president you have ever met, seemed simple enough. Then Jinnai came after him. And in the middle of the chase, the whole school froze. Everyone except Makoto. He follows a strange glow into the sealed basement, where an ancient relic sits waiting. A woman steps out of the light and says she has waited ten thousand years for him. Before he can ask a single question, she sends him to another world. El-Hazard. Jinnai gets pulled in too, along with his sister Nanami and Fujisawa, a teacher who drinks too much. Makoto and Fujisawa land in a jungle and save a princess from giant bugs. Next thing he knows, he is posing as her missing sister. Meanwhile Jinnai joins the bug empire and gets an army. The guy finally has the power to take over everything, and he knows exactly who he wants to crush first. But someone else is pulling strings behind the scenes, and the real fight is still coming. Which side will Makoto be standing on when it starts?
