Hatsunejima looks the same as it always did. The cherry trees never lose their blossoms, and a boy named Yoshiyuki Sakurai wakes up each morning in the house next door to the Asakura sisters, Otome and Yume. Their grandmothers were Junichi and Nemu, back when this island was younger. Fifty three years have passed since then. Nobody talks about it much. Then the trees stop being picky. Wishes start coming true, all of them, the cruel ones along with the kind, and the magic that once granted small miracles turns the island strange in a hurry. An old promise made by two people a lifetime ago is still humming under the branches, and Yoshiyuki is standing right on top of it. Yume and Otome both want something from him, though neither will say it out loud. Meanwhile the tree keeps listening, keeps giving, and the island starts to bend around whatever anyone asks for. So what happens when the thing granting your wishes no longer cares whether you get hurt?
