On Hatsunejima, spring never ends. A giant cherry tree stands there, and the old stories say it grants whatever you wish for. Only it stopped blooming. Just a normal tree now, nothing special, a legend the island tells to tourists. Seventeen years later, Kiyotaka Yoshino shares a house with his cousin Charles. Both of them write for the journalism club, and its president Rikka Morizono runs a tight ship. Except some rival underground club led by Suginami keeps scooping them, issue after issue. So Rikka picks a new topic for the paper: magic. Specifically the Eternal Cherry Blossom. If the legends hold up, it still owes people some wishes. To check, the club hikes out to the tree at night. And of course it blooms again, right there in the dark. What did each of them wish for? And why now, after all these years?
