The cherry trees on Hatsune-Jima used to bloom whenever they felt like it. Winter, summer, didn't matter. Two years ago that stopped, and now they're just trees, pretty for a week in spring and ordinary the rest of the year. Jun'ichi is a senior at Kazami Academy, coasting toward graduation with a house full of friends and no particular plans. Then a storm rolls in, and a girl named Aisia shows up at his door, soaked and serious, asking for Sakura's grandmother so she can learn magic and make everyone happy. Small problem: the grandmother died a long time ago. Aisia takes this news, looks at Jun'ichi, and decides he's the next best thing. He can conjure sweets. That's his whole repertoire. She sticks around anyway, hunting for real magic across the island, while the academy brings in new medical staff and the quiet town gets a lot less quiet. Somewhere under all that noise, those trees are still not blooming. Is Aisia chasing something that vanished years ago, or is she the only one who hasn't given up on it?
