Canvas 2: Rainbow Colored Sketch
Hiroki Kamikura was supposed to become a painter. Then something happened, something he never told anyone, and now he cannot even pick up a brush. These days he studies art at Nadesico Academy and advises the high school art club, headed toward a teaching job instead of the career he wanted. His cousin Elis enrolls there as a first year, a girl with real talent who once got through losing her parents by copying her brother's drawings. Then Kiri Kikyo walks through the door as the new PE teacher. She bumps into Hiroki in the hallway and freezes: this is the guy she confessed to years ago, the one who turned her down cold. They stopped talking after that. She thought she was over it. Now the three of them share the same school, and nobody is saying what they really feel. Elis watches Hiroki in silence. Kiri tells herself the old feelings are dead and buried. Hiroki just keeps walking past the art room without going in. What exactly broke him, and can any of them fix it before the past does the same thing to Elis?
