A normal morning. That's all it was supposed to be. Then Akira Shiroyanagi, a kid who lives for puzzles and cheap konpeito candy, wakes up in chains in a room he has never seen. Some girl named Mion tells him the news straight: your family thinks you're dead, you are now a test subject, and you have a power nobody else can see coming. Most people in that room start screaming. Akira gets that little grin. This is the best game he has ever been handed. The rules are simple and rotten. Everyone gets a secret ability, nobody knows what the other guy can do, and each match is a duel or a full on bloodbath where only one side walks out. His own power looks like a joke at first glance. It isn't. He has to figure out what his opponents are hiding before they figure out him, and one wrong guess is the last one he ever makes. He wants to burn the whole operation down from the inside. The people running it have been doing this for a long time. So who is really testing who here?
