Sakiko Togawa had everything, until the day it all fell apart. She walked away from CRYCHIC and broke the promise she had made to them, and it split her heart right down the middle. Now the days blur into nights and she can barely keep her head above water, scraping by with nothing left to hold on to. Then a memory she treasured gets dragged through the mud. That's the moment something inside her snaps. So she builds Ave Mujica. A masked symphonic metal band, all dark costumes and secret faces, playing a gothic stage show about loss and coming back from the dead. On stage they look untouchable. Off stage, nobody in this group actually wants the same thing. Each girl is chasing her own ghost, and the only thing holding them together is how badly they all need this to work. It can't last. Old wounds don't stay buried, and when their ideas start crashing into each other, the whole beautiful act starts to crack. Sakiko is the one standing closest to the edge. How much longer can she keep the mask on before everything she built comes down on top of her?
