Shou Zama is just a kid on a motorcycle in Tokyo when the world flips. He wakes up in a medieval castle, surrounded by soldiers in strange clothes, with a couple of other outsiders just as confused as he is. Byston Well, they're told. A hidden land where magic and Earth technology got mashed together, and the only job waiting for them is climbing into giant insect-shaped machines called Aura Battlers. Do it, protect the people, and you go home. Simple. Except nothing here is simple. Shou meets Marvel Frozen, another girl pulled from Earth, and she's not saluting anyone. She's running from the lord who summoned them. That's when the pieces start sliding: Drake Luft didn't call these kids across worlds to save anybody. He wants power, and aura users from Upper Earth are the weapon he needs to take it. Marvel's rebellion gets under Shou's skin. He switches sides. Now he's flying alongside Neal Given and the resistance, dodging Drake's forces in a war that keeps getting uglier, while Riml, the enemy's own daughter, quietly feeds them information and prays her father never finds out. Every battle costs something. Every choice pulls Shou further from the road home. So when the fighting finally stops, which world will he even want to go back to?
