Aquarion

FantasyRomanceSci-Fi2005Rating 7,1

Twelve thousand years ago, the Shadow Angels came to Earth to drain every living thing. Then they just stopped. Humanity got twelve millennia of peace, until the Holy Genesis tore the planet apart and the Angels woke up hungry again. Now they raid cities and haul people away, milking the life force straight out of their bodies. DEAVA built three ancient ships called Vectors that lock together into a giant humanoid weapon, the Aquarion. The catch: three pilots have to merge their hearts, bodies, and souls into one. Almost nobody can. So DEAVA hunts for kids with the right gift, the Element Users, who are trained to fly the thing. Apollo grew up feral and broke in some slum, and half the base thinks he is the reincarnation of Apollonius, a fallen angel who once turned on his own kind. The other half thinks that is garbage. Apollo does not care either way. He only signs up after the Shadow Angels snatch his best friend, and he climbs into a cockpit with revenge on his mind. He is wild, he does not follow orders, and he is supposed to be the one who saves everybody. Can a kid like that really pull three souls into one machine, or is he just the next body the Angels carry off?
