Episode 6 · Aim for the Ace!

Aim for the Ace!

Hiromi Oka is fifteen, new at Nishi High, and she stops dead in the hallway the first time she sees Reika Ryuuzaki play. Reika is the school's best, the one the other girls call Madame Butterfly, and Hiromi joins the tennis club just to be near her. Life gets simple and sweet: watch Reika, swing a racket now and then, never once think about going pro. Then Jin Munakata takes over as coach, and everything gets loud. He runs drills that leave even Reika gasping, and out of the whole club he picks Hiromi, the rookie, for the main lineup. Her seniors are furious. They wanted that spot, and now they have to share a court with a girl who can barely return a serve, so they let her feel it every single practice. Hiromi has to prove the coach right while the whole team waits for her to fall apart. Can a girl who joined just to watch someone else really climb to the top of tennis?
