Aika passes the salvager license exam at sixteen, which should be the start of a great career. It isn't. She's cocky, she runs her mouth, and Gota still talks to her like she's in middle school. Every salvage outfit on the coast takes one look and passes. So she tapes an ad to the school board: diver for hire. Erika, rich girl, head of the treasure hunting club, calls first. Easy money, Aika thinks. Right up until she sees the submarine sitting on Erika's private cruiser. This is not a treasure hunt. Somewhere down south there's a bunch of high school girls with real hardware, and Aika's about to meet them the hard way. And Karen, the quiet one watching from the deck. Who is she really, and why does she know Aika's name?
