Most dreams stay where they belong: inside your head, folding away quietly when you open your eyes. Not all of them. Push a feeling hard enough, want something badly enough, and the dream can slip right through into the waking world. That is when a pleasant fantasy becomes something with teeth. Two sisters, Touko and Rinko, hunt those escaped dreams down. Their weapons? Toys. Whistles, spinning tops, dolls, the sort of thing you would find in a child's bedroom, except when these girls pick them up, a nightmare starts coming apart at the seams. Their job is not just to destroy it either. They have to track down the person whose dream it was and give it back, and they have to do it before the thing tears up the real world around it. Every case puts them face to face with somebody's private longing at its ugliest. A wish that got too loud. But the sisters keep showing up, toys in hand, like this is just another errand. So what happens when a dream refuses to go home, or when its owner does not want it back?
