Summer Pockets
A boy steps off the ferry onto Torishirojima, an island where nothing much happens and nobody's in a hurry. He's here to sort through his late grandmother's things. That's the story he tells. Then he sees a girl standing on the pier, watches her a moment too long, and she's simply gone. He moves in with his aunt, digs through a shed packed with his grandmother's old stuff, and slowly the quiet starts to feel less like an escape and more like something he forgot he had. Four girls cross his path: one who laughs easily, one who won't talk to anyone, one who just wanders, one who snaps at him for breathing. Bit by bit the island works on him. And that nagging feeling that he's been here before, or that he's forgotten something important, won't leave him alone. What did Hairi come to this island to find?
