A hole tears open in the sky, monsters pour through, and humanity braces for the demon lord Rukimedes to rise again. So of course hero Alba Frühling ends up back in a cell. His partner Ross is the reason, mostly. The man is a sadist who treats saving the world like a hobby he can pick up between tormenting Alba, and this time Januar Ein's magic has dumped him in some plane stuck between worlds. Guess who is napping there. Rukimedes himself, sprawled out like he owns the place, way too relaxed for a guy everyone is supposed to be afraid of. Ross, meanwhile, is not storming any castles. He is stuck, fuming, while Alba rots in prison and everyone else gets on with the hijinks without him. The two of them still want to stop the demon lord from coming back, even split up like this. Except something from Ross's past is creeping toward them, and it does not look friendly. New faces show up. Old enemies come back for another round. The jokes get meaner, the beatings Alba takes get worse, and somewhere in all this mess the truth about what is actually going on starts slipping out. Can two idiots who cannot even stay in the same room stop the end of the world?
