Kaede has spent years locked away from classrooms, and now middle school is ending. The counselor slides a pamphlet across the desk: online high school. Safe. Quiet. No crowded hallways, no panic. But Kaede has already picked her school. She wants Minegahara, the same one her brother Sakuta attends. She wants the whole ordinary package: uniforms, lunch breaks, walking home with friends. So Sakuta, his girlfriend Mai, and Mai's half-sister Nodoka sit down with textbooks and practice exams. Everyone pitches in. For a while it almost looks like a normal family cramming for entrance season. Then the cracks show. The pressure stirs up something Kaede thought she had buried, and the future she drew for herself starts to look nothing like the picture in her head. Now she has to figure out what she actually wants, not what she promised herself in the dark. Can she walk through that school gate without falling apart?
