The continent of Leunders has been split in two for as long as anyone can remember. Humans on one side, demons on the other. Then the new demon queen Louise decides peace is boring and throws everything she has at the human nations. It takes her less than a year to bring them all down. Kyle Leonard is a swordsman with a squad and one job: get close enough to the demon queen to kill her. He fails. Badly. He is bleeding out, watching everything he swore to protect slip away, when a strange gem yanks him backward through time. Same world. Same people. None of it has happened yet. So now Kyle gets a second shot. He knows what is coming, he knows who dies, and he knows he is not strong enough to stop any of it yet. That last part is the problem, because the clock is already running and the people he loves have no idea what is headed for them. Can he really get strong enough before Louise makes her first move, or is knowing the future just a slower way to lose?
