Kanata Misora knows how it feels to stand at the top. She won middle school cheerleading nationals in Japan, she was the one everybody watched, and she walked into Takanozaki Prefectural High School with her friend Megumi ready to do it all over again. Then a contest goes wrong. Something happens there, and whatever it was, it breaks her. She stops showing up to practice. The girl who used to fly just sits at home. One day she spots Suzuha Obunai in the street, throwing herself over walls and rails like gravity is a suggestion, and the two of them start talking. Suzuha is an internet name, but more than that, she is fearless. Through her, Kanata gets pulled into a strange little group: Anna Aveiro, Nodoka Ootani, and Suzuha's classmate Shion Tanizaki. Six girls, six different things they happen to be good at, all of it somehow useful for competitive cheer. They come together by pure accident. Now the hard part. Kanata has to decide whether the thing that once hurt her is worth wanting again, and whether she can want it for herself and not just for the team. Can she still be the one everyone watches, or does she have to become someone else entirely?
