MF Ghost

Most cars on the road drive themselves now. Crashes dropped by 87 percent, combustion engines got phased out, and petrol cars became museum pieces. So of course Japan went and built an entire racing league around them. MFG pulls thirty million viewers online, all watching real drivers push real gasoline machines to the limit, and only the top fifteen, the Godly Fifteen, get a shot at the hundred million yen prize. Nineteen year old Kanata Rivington just finished a top racing school in England. He signs up under the name Kanata Katagiri, and his car is a hand me down Toyota 86 GT from an old MFG driver. Everyone else shows up in flashy machines. He shows up in that. A member of the Godly Fifteen throws him some pointers, but Kanata isn't really chasing the trophy. He came back to Japan to find his father, Ken Katagiri, and the race is just a way in. Then people start talking. The way he takes a corner, the way he handles the wheel: it looks exactly like a legendary driver nobody has seen in years. Is Kanata fast enough to reach the Godly Fifteen, and what happens when the wrong people start asking why he drives like a ghost?
