Macross Delta
Eight years after the Frontier, something is eating the galaxy. It starts with people losing their minds, and nobody can say why. The Var Syndrome spreads from planet to planet, and the only ones who seem able to fight back are a squad of Valkyrie pilots and the idol group that sings beside them in the middle of a firefight. Music as a weapon. Singers strapped into the cockpit. It sounds ridiculous until you watch it work. Then the Aerial Knights show up. Valkyrie fighters out of the Kingdom of Wind, and they are not here to talk. They have their own songs, their own pilots, and they cut straight through whatever Delta Squadron throws at them. Two fleets, two ways of fighting the same sickness, and only one of them gets to decide what happens next. The pilots of Delta are still figuring out how to fly as a unit when the Knights start picking them apart. Idols on one side, rivals on the other, and a mystery nobody has solved yet.
