The Han dynasty is falling apart. Warlords burn villages, armies march on each other, and ordinary people flinch at every hoofbeat. Somewhere in that mess is the Imperial Seal, an old relic that picks its own owner and grants him a hand of living fire. Rikuson comes from the family that guarded it for generations, right up until a man named Sonsaku stole it. So Rikuson goes to Sonsaku. Not to fight him. To serve him, watch him, and figure out whether the Seal chose right. Then assassins cut Sonsaku down, and the Seal vanishes without a trace. Just like that, the one thing his bloodline was sworn to protect is gone, and Rikuson has nothing but a dead man's word to go on. Now he has to track it across a country tearing itself apart, and every step drags him closer to a destiny he never asked for. The fire in that hand has to go to someone. What happens if it turns out to be him?
