Karin Hanazono is thirteen and pretty sure life has nothing good left to hand her. Her parents are gone, her aunt calls her stupid and useless over every bad grade, and the one friend she could talk to, her cat Shii-chan, just died. All she has left is a ring from her mother, and she holds onto it like it is the only proof her old life existed. Then a boy named Kazune shows up, right around the time she buries Shii-chan. He is rude, he thinks girls are a hassle, and he is hunting for a goddess. His cousin Himeka comes along too, another kid with dead parents. The moment they get close, Karin's ring flares up with light and something inside her switches on. Suddenly she is faster, sharper, and able to grant wishes. She is the goddess they were looking for. Nice, right? Except a power like that does not stay a secret. People with abilities of their own start circling, and Karin has to figure out what her mother's ring really is before someone takes it from her. Can a girl who never believed in herself learn to fight back before the wrong person finds her first?
