Jotaro Kujo is a high school punk who barely talks to anyone, and one day he decides something has crawled inside him. So he locks himself in a jail cell and refuses to come out. His grandfather Joseph shows up with a friend named Abdul, and together they tell him the thing haunting him is not a ghost: it is Star Platinum, his own fighting energy given solid form. Then his mother collapses. Her body is sprouting a Stand of its own, and it is slowly killing her. The reason sits at the bottom of the ocean. A vampire named Dio Brando, the sworn enemy of Jotaro's great-great-grandfather, has woken up after a hundred years underwater, stronger than ever, and he has not forgotten the family that put him there. The only way to save Jotaro's mother is to reach Dio before her body gives out. Joseph, Abdul and Jotaro set off for Egypt, and the road there is crowded with enemies who want them dead before they arrive. Jotaro has raw power he can barely control, a grandfather who jokes at the worst possible moments, and a vampire waiting at the end who has had a century to plan. Can a delinquent with a brand new Stand really stand against the thing that destroyed his ancestors?
