A presidential candidate wants a woman dead. Robert Hardy's people hand the job to Golgo 13, the assassin nobody refuses. The target goes by Queen Bee, and she runs a guerrilla army somewhere in South America. Clean hit, decent money. Except something about it stinks. Golgo starts pulling at the thread, and the thread fights back. Hardy and Queen Bee have history nobody will talk about. The new government is guarding a drug trafficking law like it's a family secret, and hardened marines are suddenly on the payroll of Hardy's own adviser. All of it aimed at one man. Then there's Queen Bee herself, who for reasons of her own has been waiting for this meeting long before any contract was signed. Golgo doesn't forgive a client who lies to him. Mercenaries, gossip, backroom deals and an entire nation's army stand between him and the truth. He'll finish the job. The real question is what he does to the people who set it up once he learns why Queen Bee is so eager to look him in the eye.
