In 2050, the Inbit came out of nowhere and took Earth. Humanity fled to the Moon and Mars, and for years the colonies kept throwing fleets at the planet. Most of those soldiers never made it past the atmosphere. Stig Bernard is one of the few who did. He is an officer from the 21st Heavy Division, the only survivor of the second liberation force to reach the ground, and now he is stuck down there with the enemy holding everything. So he starts walking, picking up a small crew of resistance fighters along the way, all of them heading for Reflex Point, the Inbit headquarters. The mission is not to win a war. It is to get close enough to learn something, anything, that the third fleet can use when it arrives. A handful of people against an army that already won. What exactly is waiting for them at Reflex Point?
