Months after the Ginza Incident, the Special Region is still a powder keg. Princess Piña begs her father to see that the JSDF has no plans to conquer anyone, but his court is a nest of whispers and knives, and every foreign power with a stake in the Gate is sniffing around for whatever they can grab. Then a girl named Yao Haa Dushi walks into Itami's life with a clan oath on her shoulders. She needs the men in green to kill a Red Dragon, and nobody on the base can even understand a word she says. By the time she tracks Itami down, he has already brushed her off once, so she takes a different route: she reminds Tuka about her father's death. Tuka's mind cracks. She starts calling Itami "father." Now Itami has a choice he never wanted. To pull Tuka back from wherever she has gone, he will have to hunt the thing that broke her in the first place.
