Ryo and his little sister Akane have been on their own since their parents died, and somehow they made it work. Simple meals. Quiet evenings. A life that was small but theirs. Then the government came knocking, and it wasn't asking. Japan's birth rate is dropping, so some bureaucrat cooked up a fix: force two young strangers to marry and see what happens. Ryo wants nothing to do with it. Too bad nobody asked him. Late one night Shizuka shows up at his door as his new fiancée, flanked by dozens of government bodyguards whose only job is making sure this marriage succeeds. She's thrilled. She cooks, she cleans, she plays the doting wife while Ryo stands there wondering how his house stopped being his. His friends won't stay out of it. The bodyguards won't leave the room. And Shizuka, cheerful as ever, won't take a single hint. Ryo's quiet life is gone, replaced by something loud and completely out of his control. Can he actually get out of a marriage the government refuses to let him escape?
