A guy loses his best friend Shi Yan and simply refuses to let it stand. So he pulls the version of Shi Yan that lives inside his own head and forces it into the world, and what comes out the other side is a Bug Man. That is the moment this stops being grief and turns into a problem for everyone else. The Memory Management Bureau sends two retrieval agents, Fang Tang and Bai Zhong, to hunt the thing down. Meanwhile Guan Chao Guan wants a burning stone, something that can fire up a time cannon and drag him back to the past. He never gets there. He stumbles into the Bureau instead and finds out the only way out is to beat the Bug creatures waiting on every level of memory. Win the levels, come back to reality. He starts bending what is real around the guy who made him, until the future is standing right there, impossible to walk away from.
