Shuu runs a tiny private military shop in Bayron City, a floating metropolis built on a brand new energy source. Everyone here is supposed to live the good life. Shuu mostly lives on instant noodles, because every check he gets disappears the moment something shiny catches his eye. Then there's Kisara. She cleans his place, cooks his meals, handles the bills, and does it all with a smile that says she is never actually asking permission. She also happens to be a demon, and his partner on the job. Exterminating possessed people pays, but the bills never quite match the damage. What Shuu doesn't talk about is the price that comes attached to every kill, something the city's cheerful residents have no idea exists. Meanwhile his ex, Ayano, keeps showing up. She's also his former boss, and she worries about him just as much as Kisara does, which turns every quiet evening into a small war. So who is really looking after Shuu: the demon who refuses to leave his kitchen, or the woman who left him and still can't let go?
