Episode 2 · D4DJ First Mix

D4DJ First Mix

Rinku spent most of her life in Africa. Now she is back in Japan, walking the halls of Yoba Academy, where DJ units rule the school and everyone seems to have a mixer in their bag. She barely knows how any of it works. Then she runs into Maho, who sits her down and shows her the basics: where the beat drops, how the tracks slide into each other, why the crowd moves the way it does. One night they watch Peaky P-key tear the stage apart. Something clicks. Rinku and Maho decide they want a piece of that, so they start hunting for members. First comes Muni, Rinku's childhood friend and a genuinely gifted artist. Then Rei, a pianist who can play anything but freezes when people look at her. Four girls, one name: Happy Around. The problem is that talent alone doesn't fill a room. They are up against units who have been at this for years, and every mistake happens in front of an audience. Can a girl who just learned what a crossfader is really stand on the same stage as the school's biggest stars?
