Ten scrolls, and every one of them belongs to a cat. Ink bleeds across silk, a paw steps through a battlefield, and suddenly the whole war is happening at ankle height. Other scrolls are drawn flat and bright, then the film switches and the fur has real weight, real shadows. Stop motion, 3D, painted lines that look wet. It keeps changing shape on you. Here is the turn: these are not cute animal shorts. The cats are witnesses. They sit in doorways while dynasties fall, curl up in a soldier's coat the night before he marches, watch a family eat dinner through a window and say nothing. History happens off to the side, and the only ones paying attention are the ones nobody notices. Ten of these, released one at a time, each one stranger than the last. A future city. A mother licking her kitten clean. Something burning on the horizon. None of it connects, until it starts to feel like it does. So who is unrolling them? And why does the last one always end with a cat looking straight back?
