Wang Sheng jumps out of a plane, his parachute fails, and he hits the water of a lake where something strange is going on. He crawls ashore right into the middle of a feud between two noble families. Being a soldier, he does what he does best: drops a couple of thugs with the gun he brought from home and saves a girl. She promises to explain this world of spirits to him. Nice start. Then he wakes up as a carp. Not metaphorically. The soul he landed in belongs to the weakest, most useless creature around, the kind of thing everyone in this world steps on. Wang Sheng still has his training and his knowledge of how spirit masters work, though, and he starts using both to climb out of the mud. The other souls are not interested in fair play, and the families he crossed at the lake have long memories. Somehow the trash fish is supposed to become a dragon, and every step up gets him a bigger enemy. Can a guy who lost everything, down to his own body, really turn the joke of the spirit world into its worst nightmare?
