Moritaka Mashiro used to draw manga everywhere, until his uncle died and he shoved the dream in a drawer. Now he just studies, eyes on a boring office job. Then Akito Takagi, the smartest kid in class, flips through his notebook and sees something worth building a future on. He wants to write. Moritaka can draw. All they need is a pen name and a place to work. Here is the twist: Moritaka blurts out a marriage proposal to Miho Azuki, the girl he has never spoken to. She says yes. But only if they both make it first. She becomes a voice actor, he becomes a published mangaka, and one day she voices the heroine of his anime. So two ninth graders move into a dead man's apartment and start cranking out pages under the name Muto Ashirogi, racing deadlines and rejections while their whole future hangs on a single promise. Can two kids with nothing but a pencil and a story really make it all the way to the top?
