Chen Shi arrives in Luoyang with nothing but a name he never heard until his mother died. His older brother. No face, no address, just a hole in his life he means to fill. Then his money runs dry, and the city stops being a place of hope real fast. One wrong turn, one odd encounter, and suddenly he is serving tea at the Dali Court to a boss who happens to be a giant white cat. Li Bing wears official robes and a very serious expression, and he is very much in charge. The court handles cases, the kind with claws in them, and Chen Shi is the new guy who barely knows which way to bow. So now he is chasing a brother he cannot describe while working for a cat he cannot quite believe exists. What exactly happened to his brother in this city, and why does every case at the court feel like it is pointing back at him?
