Jianwen sails to the Axia to pull Qili out of captivity. It goes badly, then worse: a female pirate named Qisha stands in the way, and even after they fight free, Qili refuses to leave. Family duty holds him there. Jianwen is still turning that over when word arrives that King Yan has taken the throne, and with it the Haizangzhu surfaces on the Axia, along with a martial arts tournament for anyone bold enough to claim it. Revenge gives Jianwen his answer. He starts training. Meanwhile the Onmyoji are quietly working to bring an evil god back, and their plans keep surfacing on the ship, one piece at a time. Jianwen matches wits with them while he sharpens his fists. And then the Whale Riding Merchant Group Tongque sails in with news for Qisha that changes what she thought she knew. Some say Jianwen is the destined person meant to crack this whole conspiracy open. Is he?
